Description
Evrima, the first ever cruise ship built as a part of the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection is a hotel-at-sea experience complete with Bromic’s Platinum Smart-Heat™ Electric Marine outdoor heaters aboard six open deck areas of the ship. Named by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the “Best Cruise Ships in the World”, the 298-passenger vessel was designed by Interior Architect and Project Manager, Elena Cristofari looking to create a luxurious experience aboard a cruise ship with a superyacht design and style.
Launched in late 2022 after several years of planning and 14 months of delays, the cruise ship has an abundance of amenities including 6 restaurants, 149 suite-style cabins, 4 pools, a cigar humidor, 2 bars, a beauty salon and spa deck, a water-level marina terrace with water toys and a fitness centre, there is sure to be a unique high-end experience for all guests, providing an array of opportunities for entertainment and enrichment.
With spaces designed to embrace the surroundings, Evrima has redefined luxury travel using only the most luxurious products aboard. Taking into consideration this unique design and luxurious guest experience, Cristofari worked alongside Bromic’s heating expert Daniel Bruntsch through Bromic’s complimentary Design Service, to design a heat layout that could be concealed and recessed in the ceiling to improve the comfort level for every passenger. “The layout [of the heaters] was driven by the seating positions for the restaurant areas and sofa disposition for the lounges,” states Cristofari. Bruntsch then drew-up a free 2D heat plan and was able to recommend personalized heating solutions including sleek recessed mounting options that would provide the most ideal level of comfort for guests aboard the cruise ship, and usability of the outdoor spaces year-round.
“When I first saw Evrima at the shipyard in Spain it was clear that she was going to be a very special luxury vessel. The design and technical teams that Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection had assembled are all top industry professionals with one common goal; to build the best new luxury ship the world had seen, finished to Superyacht standard,” states Bruntsch. He continues, “At the time Bromic’s Platinum Electric Marine Heaters had proven themselves on several Superyachts so it was paramount to share this experience with the project team and contractors on site to then deliver the highest quality installation. It is now such a pleasure to hear that guests and crew are enjoying the results, and to see our Marine Heating Solutions featured on the next Ritz Carlton Yacht Collections ships.”
“The passenger comfort level on a luxury cruise ship or yacht should be the main goal of the experience,” says Cristofari. “They [BROMIC’s Platinum Marine heaters] perfectly fit the design of the ceiling and improve the comfort level for the passengers”.
Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has a bright future ahead with plans for 8-10 yachts for multiple Marriott International brands in the coming years with Ilma and Luminara, both also outfitted with Bromic’s Platinum Electric Marine outdoor heaters, due for delivery in July 2024 and Fall 2025, respectively.
Composed of a fully sealed heater body, and a premium, tinted ceramic-glass screen, Bromic’s low form factor Platinum Collection heaters spread radiant heat evenly across a large area while minimizing wind interference and unwanted light emissions—so guests can simply enjoy the comfort of the heat without interrupting the magic of the moment. Composed of durable AISI 316 marine grade stainless steel and certified by Lloyds Register, the Platinum Electric Marine heaters are resistant to the corrosive elements of coastal and marine environments, so guests can enjoy them for many years to come.
